Truthful Tuesday

What’s this? Have I gone crazy?

I’ll leave it up to you to answer that question, but for better or worse, here goes: I’ve decided to show my readers an unflattering truth about myself or my house on “Truthful Tuesday“.

So here goes. My worst room this week was…

No, not the loft, even though it’s still horrible and I am desperate to clear it out so we can finally continue with our loft conversion.

It wasn’t DD-15’s room either.

Sure, it doesn’t look great, but we’re working here and actually getting things done – even though it takes much longer than I’d have liked.

Neither was it the TV-room, where DD-15 is currently staying.

Sure, it’s messy, but what do you expect with a 15-year old? And where else should we have stored her furniture and other possessions? Obviously, there was no room in the loft.

The landing, then?

Nope. I don’t like it, but this was the only place we had left to store DD-15’s desk. I can live with it for a while.

The guestroom is worse.

I don’t enjoy having to push DD-15’s dolls house out of the way before I can get clean clothes out of my dresser. And I hate it when a certain someone dumps the (thankfully clean) laundry on my bed and desk, and I don’t find it until I want to go to sleep.

So, curious yet?

The price for Worst Room of the Week goes to:

The bathroom!

I know. I know. It probably doesn’t look half bad to you. Not nearly as bad as the loft, right? But you know, it’s just plain awful going into that bathroom and being greeted by that mess. Paint just doesn’t belong in the bathroom, and I should have cleaned it up and put it away, but I haven’t.

The bath should look inviting, which it hardly does with all these towels draped over the edge. And let’s not even get started on the John. Suffice it to say it’s plain dirty and I need to scrub it, and scrub it again, and then scrub it some more. Which I haven’t done yet, because I simply lacked the energy.

But honestly, you can’t run a B&B – not even a Family B&B – and have a dirty, grimy bathroom. It’s just bad form.

So that’s why really, the bathroom gets the Worst Room of the Week price. Guess what’s on my to-do list for tomorrow?

Now that I’ve shown you my worst, how about you?

I quite like the colours in DD-15's room too, and what's more, she loves them!
And yes, the bathroom is definitely the hardest to keep clean. (And kitchen is the easiest, because I spend a lot of time in it, and clean almost automatically in there.)

Your B & B might be untidy, but I LOVE the colours in Miss 15's room. Very brave showing us your bathroom. We have a tiny, tiny bathroom and there is just the two of us – no bath, just a shower with 2 tiled walls and 2 curtains (which I am thankful for as I can take them down and throw them in the washing machine every week which means less tiles to scrub). I HATE the grouting between the tiles, it is so hard to keep looking clean. I personally think the bathroom is the hardest room to keep clean and tidy.
