BBQ time

After all the hard work we’ve done – we finally finished planking DD-19’s walls…

… I decided we deserved a reward.

So this afternoon I bought us a bag of charcoal and some (vegetarian) BBQ food, we got out the firebowl and had a nice BBQ in our backyard.

In our nice, clean and uncluttered (albeit slightly boring) backyard.

Everything was really yummie, we had a great time together and never mind that we don’t have any functional garden furniture at the moment. A few small tables borrowed from the living room, the girls’ old children’s chairs and the sled worked just as well, and probably made the BBQ even more fun.

It had been such a long time, I’d almost forgotten how much fun it is to have a BBQ. I promised the girls we’d do this more often – and have picnics again as well.

Secretly, I’m already looking forward to that rainy day, when we can have a picnic in the living room, like we used to do when the girls were little.

Do you ever do indoor picnics? What are your favourite picnic foods?

    Hi Susan!
Sorry for not getting back to you any sooner. Even my computer has been complaining about my lack of attention for her. 😉
Your indoor picnics sound really good. I never had wine on my picnics. I think I should rectify that.

Hi Leah, how nice it is to see a picture of you actually relaxing and having fun! Yes, we sometimes do indoor picnics (but not for a while, must rectify that). We go to a deli and buy cheeses, dips, avocados, sliced meats and maybe a French stick of bread and of course a bottle of wine! You have showed that you don't need to have all the fancy back yard furniture etc in order enjoy life. You sure know how to smell the roses. As always, you are an inspiration to me.
