Thank goodness! The job is done.
Oh, there’s still plenty of work left to do for DD-19 and me, but today the guys put up the walls. The rooms are ready.
Ready to be decorated, which is what DD-19 and I will be tackling next week – with the help of one of DD-19’s best friends. And even some help from the hubby, but basically his job will be to play the electrician – he’s quite good at that, and enjoys doing it too – and drilling some holes in the concrete wall, because if I have to do that, we’ll end up with holes as large as the crater of Mt Vesuvius.
Now, without further ado, let me show you the new rooms.
DD-19’s room, from four different angles.
The door isn’t quite ready yet, but we’re working on it. It’s going to be gorgeous.
We’re going to hide the radiator behind a screen…
…and install build-in cabinets under the windowsill.
And here’s DD-19’s build-in wardrobe. She absolutely loves getting a built-in wardrobe. It’s such a space-saver!
And finally, a view of the hubby’s new study.
He’s really content with it. Already, and we haven’t done a thing to it yet. I’m so happy for him.
And last but not least, I’m very happy for me too. Happy because this part of the loft conversion is done and I’ll get my house back in order again. I figure I’ll spend most of my Day of Unplugging – my Shabbat – cleaning and tidying up – but that’s OK. Because it’s going to make me and my family happy.
